Battelle for Kids is partnering with the Houston Independent School District (HISD) to provide strategic consulting and deliver professional development, communications and technical support to launch ASPIRE (Accelerating Student Progress; Increasing Results & Expectations).

ASPIRE is HISD’s educational-improvement model, which includes the use of value-added information to improve teaching and learning. Value-added also is a component of HISD's differentiated-compensation program for highly effective campuses and teachers.
