Ohio's Flat World Initiatives

The Ohio Department of Education provided a Flat Pack for every school in Ohio
Today, Ohioans are feeling the gradual pull of globalization that challenges the strong economy that the United States has enjoyed for many years.

The convergence of technological, political, social and business changes have created a global marketplace where people from all corners of the earth are equally able to communicate, collaborate and compete. How do these changes impact our approach to education? And, what must we do to better prepare students to not merely survive, but to thrive in our increasingly global community?

The Ohio Department of Education sponsored the production and distribution of the FLAT PACK to every public school in Ohio in October 2006.

"We hope this tool helps educators, parents, students, business leaders and community members discuss the changing world and how we can work together to prepare students for a future they can only imagine. The future of our workforce and economy depends upon the quality of education we provide to our students today."
